Initial Deployment

This chapter provides an overview of the steps that are required to deploy an OpenEdge application using different code formats. It does not cover every possible contingency, but rather tries to give you a general understanding of the initial deployment process for the different code formats. This chapter puts more emphasis on what to do, rather than how to do it.

These steps are not meant to be performed in a strictly chronological order. More detailed information about particular aspects of deployment is provided in Chapter 11, " Deployment Topics and Tasks."
